Introducing Athena, Our First Horse

It's official — we've bought our first horse. Back in August we told you the search was starting at the sales; today we can finally tell you how it ended.

She's a bay/grey filly, foaled on 14th January 2025, by Shaman (IRE) out of Silver Rose (IRE) — own sister to the winning Eternal Elixir (IRE). We saw a lot of yearlings at the sales, but we kept coming back to her, and she impressed us more with every viewing. She was consigned by Yeomanstown Stud, and some shrewd judges and good trainers followed her into the ring alongside us.

She's now in the care of Karl Burke at Spigot Lodge in North Yorkshire — a Classic-winning trainer with 21 Group 1 victories to his name and one of the most in-form yards in the country. We couldn't be happier with where she's landed.

We're calling her home The Athena Syndicate, the first of what will become a series of syndicates named after Greek gods and goddesses. Athena isn't the name she'll eventually race under — that will come later — but it's how you'll find her here while everything else comes together.

The syndicate is built around 40 shares, with a minimum share size of 2.5% at £2,250 upfront and £850 due on 1st March 2027 (or pay in full as a one-off), with fees included until November 2027. You can see her full pedigree, meet her trainer and get the complete share details on her profile page.

Shares are limited, so if you'd like to be part of it, get in touch at admin@coronationthoroughbreds.co.uk and we'll talk you through it.
