We're Going To The Sales

It's official — we're going to the sales. Coronation Thoroughbreds is buying its first horse, and the search starts where every good story in this sport does: in the ring, with a catalogue, a lot of coffee, and two people who've been waiting a long time for this.

For anyone who hasn't been before, the sales are exactly as good as they sound. Rows of yearlings led round the paddock, breeders and agents comparing notes in hushed tones, and then the ring itself — the bidding, the nerves, the little pause before the hammer falls that feels like it lasts about ten minutes. It's part auction, part theatre, and it's a genuinely brilliant day out.

Matty's spent more hours than most poring over stallion books and pedigrees, and Simon's never been shy of backing his judgement under pressure — a Premier League striker doesn't get to the top by hesitating in the box, and he's not about to start hesitating at the rostrum either. Between the two of them, we like our chances of finding the right one.

Here's why we don't want you finding out about this after the fact. We've built Coronation Thoroughbreds around a limited share structure on purpose — small, considered syndicates where every member gets the full experience of ownership, not a diluted slice of a huge group. That means the number of shares in this first horse will always be limited, and the earlier you're with us, the more of the journey you get: the sales, the choice of trainer, the first time the horse steps onto the track. Not just the bit after we've already made all the decisions.

So consider this your invitation. Register your interest now, and we'll make sure you're among the first to hear which horse we've bought, from which sale, and why. Don't miss out on the fun part.
